Day One...Ulmus Academy has officially launched Classical Education in the Quincy community!
The following topics were discussed:
The past few years have placed a bright spotlight on our current education system, the breakdown of the parent / school partnership, and the lack of transparency regarding the curriculum and lessons that are being used. This time spent at home over the past two years also brought families together; it gave us time to examine our priorities, and it provided an opportunity for us to see what our children were learning and how they learn. All across our great country, parents began having conversations with other parents, and began to realize that they do still have a voice when it comes to their children and their education. We, the parents, are the first and most important teachers our children will ever have. How they learn, when they learn, the environment in which they learn, the character and values of their teachers and staff, collaboration with other students, and community involvement all work together to create the best opportunity for each child to reach their greatest potential. We believe you should have a voice, and a choice, when it comes to your child’s education.
